I have to say there is a better way to feeding squirrels than using my bird feeders. It was very frustrating filling them up only to have them empty a few days later. I wanted a way to keep squirrels out of my bird feeders that still made them look natural. When I first started looking for a way, all I could find were things that just didn’t look good to me. Something like a large cone I could put above them.
In the picture below you can see the nails are a little older than the staples. I thought nails would do the trick, but squirrels can be relentless. After adding the staples, I haven’t found them on my feeders for more than a month. The best benefit is that you can barely see it from my deck.
